Dental Implants
Dental implants are titanium posts that are surgically placed into the jawbone where teeth are missing. These metal anchors act as tooth root substitutes. The bone bonds with the titanium, creating a strong foundation for artificial teeth. Small posts, called abutments are then attached to the implants. The abutments allow a dentist to attach teeth to the implants.
Wisdom Tooth Surgery
In many instances, there is insufficient space to allow for successful eruption of wisdom teeth. This can result in pain, swelling of the gums or infection as these teeth develop.
Impacted Teeth
An impacted tooth simply means that it is stuck and can not erupt into function. Patients frequently develop problems with impacted third molar (wisdom) teeth. The maxillary cuspid (upper eye tooth) is the second most common tooth to become impacted.
Paediatric Oral Surgery
Dr. Freilich is one of very few oral and maxillofacial surgeons in Canada with advanced, fellowship-level training in paediatric surgery. Our practice is very pleased to accommodate surgical procedures for children. We manage a wide range of paediatric oral surgical problems, with particular experience in the management of children with the following conditions: ectodermal dysplasia, oligodontia, Down syndrome, cleft lip and palate, cleidocranial dysplasia, cerebral palsy, and Gorlin syndrome.

“(Dr. Freilich) is a brilliant surgeon, a shoulder to cry on and an overall incredible human being. He found ways to help us through the physical and emotional challenges of ectodermal dysplasia. Thanks to him, my daughters have beautiful, healthy smiles. We wouldn’t have been able to survive this very long and hard journey without him. The Sanidas girls love you very much Dr. Freilich!”
